Fitness Friday
Students at their upper body muscle stations trying exercises that help make our muscles strong and healthy. We also discussed other ways to keep our muscles healthy. A few examples given by students were walking, playing on the playground and riding bike.
Hoop Toss
Practicing our tossing skills we played Hoop Toss which is somewhat like the game of bean bags. Students where in their teams and had certain challenges. One challenge was they needed to get at least 1 bean bag into each hoop before they could move on to the next hoop. We started at the closest hoop and worked our way up.
We still use the cues of tick, tock but we let go of our ban bag when our hand is higher this time!

KNOCKOUT!
Finishing up our rolling skills, the students played one of my favorite games which is called Knockout!
Students are split into two teams with pins on the end line of each side. Your job as a team is to knock down all of the other teams pins by rolling your ball to the other side of the gym. You can not cross the center line of the gym and you can not throw the ball. If your own teammate accidently knocks down a pin, it has to stay down! Needless to say the students wanted to play this game on the next day too :)

Rolling
We've been rolling like crazy around
here at Chatfield! The students just finished up their rolling unit and we played a variety of games to help us with our rolling skills.
To help us with our arm swing we use the cues- TICK, TOCK. The students did a great job stepping with their opposite foot and had a blast playing shrinking goal. Object is to roll your ball through the goal, you make it, your partner will make the goal smaller.
